As my brother has so beautifully informed you, all of our lives were changed AMAZINGLY in 1999, when Martie was diagnosed with Autism. The Lord has abundantly blessed me with two terrific boys, Isaac (youngest) and Michael (oldest). But I feel he has bestowed upon me an extra special gift, my daughter, Martie. Martie was diagnosed with Autism at age 2. Since then, along with the many rollercoaster rides of emotion, I have also become a sponge absorbing knowledge pertaining to Autism and children with Special Needs. I even went back to college to receive my education degree with certification in Multicategorical Special Education. I am pursuing my Master's Degree, with emphasis in Autism. I intend to tell this story somewhat differently than others in the field; mine will be with a Christian perspective. I hope to "encourage and inform" the individual, family member, friend and professionals touched with Autism. Please come back and help me in our journey into Autism in God's World.

Here is Martie and Dad (Allan) last fall getting to know our new colt (Takota). We hope horseback riding will become a fun new activity, maybe even a part of her therapy.
